On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the state, urging them to adopt the timeless values of Lord Shri Ram in their lives.

In his message, CM Dhami emphasized the virtues of truth, righteousness, compassion, and duty exemplified by Lord Ram, encouraging everyone to contribute to the building of a strong and prosperous Uttarakhand and India.

“Heartiest greetings to all of you on this auspicious occasion of Ram Navami. This sacred day, marking the birth of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram, gives us the message of truth, religion, compassion, and duty. Let us resolve to imbibe these values in our lives and work toward the betterment of our state and nation. May this divine festival bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all,” said the Chief Minister.

Taking to social media platform X, CM Dhami shared a devotional message: “The ninth date of the sweet month, holy, in the bright fortnight, Abhijit, beloved of Hari. Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the sacred festival of Shri Ram Navami, the manifestation celebration of Lord Shri Ram, the embodiment of righteousness, the supreme upholder of dignity.”

He further wrote: “The life of Lord Shri Ram teaches us truthfulness, steadfastness, and dedication to duty. May Ram Navami bring joy, peace, and progress to everyone. I pray to Lord Shri Ram Chandra Ji, the pride of the Raghu dynasty, for the well-being of all.”

Ram Navami marks the culmination of Chaitra Navratri, a nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga and her nine divine forms, collectively known as Navdurga. On this ninth day, devotees also worship Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth incarnation of the goddess, known as the giver of spiritual knowledge and meditative power.

According to Hindu mythology, Maa Siddhidatri mounted a lotus and defeated the demon Mahishasura on this day, which is why it is also celebrated as Maha Navami.

Chaitra Navratri, also called Vasant Navratri, is celebrated during the spring season and is one of the two major Navratris observed in India, the other being Shardiya Navratri. Devotees across the country mark the festival with fasting, prayer, and special rituals such as Ghatasthapana, invoking Goddess Shakti.

The festival concludes with Ram Navami, commemorating the birth of Lord Ram, an embodiment of dharma and an enduring symbol of righteousness. Across India, the occasion is celebrated with devotion, temple visits, and community prayers.
